Alan then became a Director and took over the running of the companies listed building projects, which included the roof restoration of St Stephens Church, Saltash. The refurbishment of Thruselton Church where the original 13th century roof was found below a late Victorian roof structure. The Victorian roof was removed and the original roof was conserved and strengthened before being reslated. The conversion of Restormel Manor and out buildings was the largest project undertaken and involved the conversion of the out building into holiday lets. The manor house was converted in to three separate apartments. The construction of a modern indoor swimming pool completed the project.

Many of his clients live outside of the area and Alan runs the projects using his experience and judgement on a day today basis, liaising with engineers and subcontractors as appropriate, and keeping clients informed using photographs and emails. With many of the projects resulting in him being appointed to carry out further projects.
