We first engaged Alan to repair significant water damage that had occurred when a storm ripped some tiles from the roof. The damage extended from the top to bottom of the house and involved replacing a lathe and plaster ceiling that had to be retained as the house is listed. Subsequently, we engaged Alan to re do a room where all the asbestos panelling had been removed. In addition he has repaired a number of old and badly fitting sash windows along with numerous other things.
As we live in London, carrying out building works from afar has always been a challenge however we found Alan to be trustworthy, reliable, honest and a good communicator. This last point is something hard to find in the building industry but Alan always answered his phone or returned calls and often chased us up to make sure we made decisions at the right time. Alan's men came when he said they would and completed work within the timetable agreed. Alan helped us coordinate with other workmen and accommodated their less reliable schedules. Whenever there were issues, Alan dealt with them calmly and fairly.
We will use Alan again and I recommend him to others.
